Mediation & Negotiating Settlements
Mediation is a process where the parties are assisted by a third-party neutral, known as a mediator, in entering an agreement on some or all of the issues involved in their case. In family law cases, Alternate Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) proceedings such as mediation are encouraged and often mandated by Judges. ADR is private, ADR maximizes your control over the outcome of your case and ADR decreases everyone’s time and your expense to bring your case to closure. Mediation and negotiating a settlement can occur at any time before a final trial in the divorce process.
